“Ayna” is a project that examines wall and floor cladding within the Israeli building industry. While considering the wasteful manner in which many projects in Israel are managed.
Wanting to stay on deadlines, dealing with pressure from the developer and trying to cut down work costs, leads most of the building projects to over purchase materials.
Leaving a vast amount of residue and directly creating wasted, unused energy.
Within the “Ayna” framework, talismans and mystical objects from the world of Jewish values were created.
Using left over tiles and marble collected from all over the country and cut with a water jet.
With this collection we aim to spread good energy, hope and new perspectives about an essential use of design- shifting one abundance to another- from abundance of building waste to abundance of luck and blessings.
